This site has good information on getting rid of spyware and how
to avoid future attacks. Also has list of free spyware tools to help
you remove them. Good luck. http://www.basicspywaretips.com/getridofspyware.html

Switch to linux! Seriously, if you are running windows, youcan download, install &runspybot-search&destroy from
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html

and adaware from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

Both are free to download and use.

If you are running windows XP, Microsoft has a spyware removal tool and another tool that keeps your PC slightly protected.

There are commercial products as well but you are on your own if you want to buy them. I suggest you read the reviews on
http://spywarewarrior.com

before spending any money on commercial software. This site keeps track of how well all the spyware software works for detecting and removing spyware.

If you have to free antispyware in your system here are four that I use and they are free and scan all 271,000 objects in my system. Only Ad-aware SE Personal scans what it needs to scan to rid spyware.

http://www.lavasoft.com Download thier free home for personal use Ad-aware SE Personal.

http://www.superantispyware.com Download their free version.

http://www.grisoft.com Download an if you don't purchase in thirty days they will only remove the guard and the auto updates. I use the purchase version. They may have a free version to download. Owise just download the purchase an it becomes free in thirty days.

http://www.emsisoft.com Download thier free home for personal use A2Squared Malware

After scans always reboot when spyware is found and deleted.

Use superantispyware.

http://www.superantispyware.com

This only applies if you are using Microsoft Windows. If you are using Linux or Mac OS X then you won't be infected by spyware and have a different issue.

You need some pest control program.
You can use SpyBot (Search and Destroy) from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html. It is a great freeware.

if you want a commercial version you can go with CA eTrust Pest Control product from http://www.pestpatrol.com/. You can get is separately or part of the whole desktop protection product (anti virus and firewall)
