losing your job is a very upsetting time, whether you liked it or not. It deminishes you sense of worth and undermines your confidence, hence the darker moods. Why then do you push thoughs that love you away? Simply because you feel unworthy..you probably feel 'why should they care?', or anger has generated itslelf inside you as a defence mechanism - the 'i dont need anyone to get through this' belief. All I can say, as someone of the latter turn of thinking, pride comes before a fall, who are we to think we are so special that it is wrong to let others have the pleasure of caring for us? Let them. Simply put though, why shouldnt they care, they are our loved ones. If the roles were reversed wouldnt you be trying to help your friend in the same manner? I would suggest, however abhorent it may be to you, that you go talk to your doc. It sounds like depression has set in - understandably so. Derpression is not something to be scared of, it is a chemical imblance that can be caused by stress. Nothing to be ashamed off. Whats the worst that could happen if you see your doc,? you get some mediction and its not for you, the best? well hopefully in a few months you will be able to say, yeah i got a job and the family is great. good luck go for it. I speak from the heart.

I was out of work for three months and I was in severe depression as a result. I'd worked for a company for 5 years and they made me redundant in 3 days.
There were days when I just didn't bother getting up and nearly split from my wife.
If you have been employed before and as time goes on it gets worse than you are probably thinking that your job is what defines you. I know I did. The more you get depressed about not having a job it the worse it will get. It is important to speak to a friend or family member that you trust the most. Get some professional help, some foods can also cause mood swings particularly sugar rich ones.
Good luck

try changing your diet to ONLY fruits vegetables and organic meats for at least 1 week -also start exercising everyday. Exercise boosts seretonin levels just the way antidepressants do and your diet definitley has to do with your mood swings. Garbage foods like fast foods and corn products and breads will only make you worse. Try this for awhile and you will see changes Also starting writing down everything you feel in a journal-releasing the pain on paper helps as well Good Luck!!

I think it is because you are out of work and spending too much time alone. This can easily cause depression, after all when you were working you had a good reason to get up and out every day and now...LIKE ME (I am retired) you are spending a lot of time on your own with no distractions and probably are short of money too. I suggest you go to the doctor and tell him or her everything. Do all you can to get a job and if that doesn't work think about re-training. I do hope this helps. Don't worry, it will get better.

Situational depression. I lost my job years ago and went through the same thing. We often identify our being with what we do. losing that makes us feel less important. After twenty years I still have dreams of being back at the job I lost. I have since went back to college obtain a degree and moved on employment wise. But I too have had problems since that point. Maybe we care to much about not completing that point in our life successfully as we see it. Medication may be your answer.

Depression or stress or both. Seek medical or psychological assistance. Being unemployed would certainly cause this. Life events that are stressful often lead to depression, but you can treat it. If you are strapped for cash, consult the blue pages of your phone book and find the department of mental health in your area. They will assist you on a sliding scale.
Good luck. I hope you feel better.

You need your GP to refer you to a psychologist and you should have a talk to him. You might be schizophrenic and you may need a light medication to even out your moods for six months. It's important that you keep busy and don't brood. Enroll in some night courses, learn something new, whether it is a language or cooking Chinese, and meet different people. Use your free time constructively and don't allow yourself to sink into depression. Read, walk, and learn. Good luck!

Have you lost your appetite lately? Or have you began to eat too much?
Are you sad most of the time?
Have you thought about putting an end to your life?
Do you feel tired or lacking energy most of the time?
Have you been having problems in making desicions or concentating?
Have you lost your interst in activities that were pleasurable before?
Do you blame yourself most of the time?
Have those symptoms been going on for more than two weeks?
If the answer to most of those question is yes. then I suggest you see a psychiatrist. You may be suffering from Depression.
Deprssion is curable, but if neglected it can get worst. Best wishes

stress and anxiety does bad things to people brotha. I know this from personal experience. I won't go into detail, but I've dealt with stress constantly for over a year now, and I find meditation helps me. As well as telling a very good and trusted friend about my problems. Crying, although seen as bad in modern society, is actually a very healing experience. Feel not ashamed to Cry when you feel the need. It heals your body and soul.
Hey, message me. We can talk.
Good luck.

Could be SAD - or Seasonally Affected Disorder, where your mood is affected by the weather. For example, a nice, sunny day makes you happy, whereas a rainy day makes you feel miserable & you don't feel motivated to go out or do anything at home.
