You could try one of many finer department stores that have make-up counters. They usually have some one there that can show you how to apply make-up correctly and what matches your skin tone. I hate to see women or anyone for that matter who don't know how to apply make-up. They look like they applied it in the dark. Good luck once you learn the correct way to apply make-up it is very easy.

Honestly to pass as a female you have to be thin and I mean thin, and fairly narrow in shape, no thick voice and if you have knobbly knees its a dead give away How tall are you, because unless you can blend in with a genetic female then sorry you won't pass - I would say your transvestite rather than anything else - I can tell a transexual a mile away and a tv, even the thai ones that are meant to be so passable - its usually something about the features or the voice or the face that make it so obvious. For Raige - er I am not trying to be nasty to you if you are very very thin and you are a good age to be doing this then your pass, but if you plan doing it permanently I wish you luck as your in for a hard life - thats a fact - they get a lot of discrimination even the ones that pass, men use and abuse them - you are not guaranteed no one ever knowing what you are if you think that then you can do it but only if you change all your friends discredit all your family and move away - Its extreme and people don't tolerate. If you pursue this have fun try it but also seek medical guidance and I wish you luck in all you do Honestly

Sure, why not? If you wanted to do something more privately you could contact a cosmetic representative from Avon or Mary Kay or buy some magazines with make-up and hair tips. Also, what about female family members giving some advice?

I would think that you could shop there with confidence, because man or woman, your money is green and spends, and I believe that the department stores, they work on commission. Probably have a better chance if the sales associates are smart, they will know that if they are especially attentive to you, you are more likely to spend more money there.

sure, why not?
i am an esthetician ; i don't work at a department store, but at a spa. we have lots of crossdressers come in for makeup before shows.
one of our best makeup artists is a crossdresser. that's who i have do my makeup when i go out. i do his when he goes out (only on dates. i don't like the way i do 'show' makeup on him/her)

I'd recommend MAC. They're always really friendly and I'm sure they would be happy to help.

I would think they should be able to go anywhere and get good service and respect. Otherwise, it's discrimination and their money is as good as anybody's.
