He excepted Donald Rumsfield's resignation approximately
10 days ago. A Mr Gates will take his place (I can't remember
his first name).

As for what will happen in Iraq, that will be in the hands if the
Democrats come January. My concern is that when politicians
take over a war situation, it gets really stupid. We may be
looking at Viet Nam 2.

Politicians should never be allowed to run a war. They do not
know how and they screw it up.

We will just have to watch and wait. If it goes the way I believe
it will, the Liberal Politicians and those who voted for them
will be responsible.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!

Rumsfield was asked to leave on Nov. 4th by President Bush. On Nov. 5th and 6th, Bush announced to the media that Rumsfeld would be his man for the next two years. Elections were on Nov. 7th. On Nov. 8th, Bush announced to the media that Rumsfeld would be leaving and he wanted Bob Gates, to be next Sec. of Defense. Gates, who is currently at Texas A&M, and who was heavily involved in Iran-Contra scandel, was approved by Congress. He has came before the congress before to be appointed as head of CIA, but was voted down.

The bi-partisan Iraq commision just released the its report this week, which reports we are currently failing in Iraq. Bush said he would look at it. I don't know if he meant he would read it or if he would just look at it.

2 casey has already been confirmed by the congress
3 bush has listened to the study committee and is taking input from the dems even though they have little to say.

Rumfeld was just used as a scape goat to take the BLAME off of Bush, as for as Bush plans for Iraq well I don`t really think he`s even figured out how to get out of this hole he`s dug yet his self

You have been hibernating? Glad you have woken up. It is still 2006. Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to die by hanging. Rumsfeld has resigned. I am taking over his job. Three truths and a lie.

Questions like this prove that certain Bush-haters and conspiracy theorists don't really follow the news at all. They just regurgitate what they're told.

Rumsfeld resigned on his own. He was not "terminated" by President Bush.

Gates most probably. GWB will most likely pull out the troops gradually by 2008 year-end.

Probably because of a falling out, or he is trying to suck up to the democrats, who have power over the congress and senate now.

He didn't, Rumsfeld resigned on his own. Gates is his successor. And the plan is still to establish a stable democracy.
