The tank is too small.
You could have a group of a single species of mbuna - maybe a group of five of one of the smaller species but 30g is too small to fit a mbuna community & all Haps grow too large.

You could swap lakes & look into Tanganyikan cichlids - there are more smaller species available and you could have a breeding group of shellies or other lamprologus & a pair of smaller Julidochromis.

One Mbuna really needs a 40 or 55 gal tank
I found that at the bottom of that forum (but that's their experience)

I would say one of each since they get so big but I don't really have any experience with either fish! I'm just going by what I searched on line.

I would call a fish store and ask them!

You probably will be fine with 2 dozen or so. I beleive I would stick to 1 dozen or fewer.
