The 1st thing you do when you enter lounge is check play small window in option box. Once in you can expand room to see the chat area. This also blocks the big ads at top of screen in room.
now type in space under play window hit enter on keyboard

place your cursor in the message box area and click then begin typing. If you cannot type, maybe your settings need adjustment.
Are you able to type elsewhere? If you cannot type at all, your keyboard maybe unplugged. If you can type elsewhere but not in game rooms, check your browser settings. (tools > internet options > advanced) scroll down to Java and make sure you have JIT compiler checked if you are running internet explorer 7 browser, and uncheck the java 2 v (whatever version) click "apply" then "ok" when you login to spades if it asks you to download Yahoo spades, click RUN or download, it should work fine, you'll be running microsoft virtual machine to play games which runs faster and has no lagging.
