I love EastEnders - but Grant is long gone & the only sure thing to happen is Pauline's death. Christmas is always a depressing time in Albert Square, so don't expect a cheerful episode. I don't think Ruby would've given away too much of the storyline to your friend, as they're not allowed to, but she wouldn't want to spoil it too much for everyone.

i don't watch any soaps anymore there just too depressing i used to watch Eastenders but the story lines just gets so bad that i cant watch it maybe if they get rid of a few people and put some decent story lines in i can be made to watch it again, my life's a soap lol
