The Chicago Cubs because they signed a good lead off hitter in Alfonzo Soriano and they also signed Ted Lilly who should be better in the National League opposed to the American League. Plus they signed a good manager who wants to win.

The trendy pick is the Cubs, but they've overpaid everyone that they signed, and failed to add any quality starting pitching. Ted Lily for his career has a mediocre record and had an ERA over 4.00 last year. I think that the Yankees and Padres did the best. The Padres were almost there last year, and signed Maddux to complete a great starting rotation. The Yankees signed Pettitte to fill their greatest need, and sat tight and didn't make any stupid moves as in the past, which may have been more important than any move they COULD have made. They are also negotiating a deal with one of Japan's top pitchers. Suring up their rotation is all they need to do to make another real run at the American League title, their offense is set.

The Red Sox added JD Drew, Lugo, and the Japanese pitcher. Also, they are hot on the trail to sign Gagne as a closer. They unquestionably did a great job. However, the BIG prize goes to the Cubs with the signing of Soriano some pitchers.
Chow!!

My Cubs have had a very good offseason at this point. Siging Soriano to lead off, getting A-Ram back, DeRosa, and Lilly make for a good start. I think they will still get another SP and a CF (could Lofton return?).
The Dodgers have also done very well for themselves. They have obtained good SP and gotten rid of injury man Drew.

although they lost ted lilly (that downs syndrome retard), id would say the blue jays. they signed frank thomas and resigned gregg zaun and i highly doubt theyll trade wells for mediocre pitching. if they sign someone like steve tracshell, i would say they are the most improved team.
the cubs would b second but they overpayed soriano way to much. i think them gettin kar derosa was a steal becuase he can play cf,lf,rf,3rd,2nd,1st i think. henry blanco was a waist and honestly if ted lilly really thinks he can pitching hte the National Legaue then he needs to see a shrink. getting lilly WON'T help the cubs pitching problem very much and it was very much a waist of money on him but its not my money so i dont care.
I think if the blue jays get 1 or 2 pitchers (zito), hten they would be the most improved team and definatly a force to be reckoned with in 07.
PS soriano is good but no 136 million dollar good

The Cubs did good and every team in the NL West did good. Well, the NL West traded amongst themselves. We will see how that plays out when 07 begins.

Certainly not the Brewers ....I'd say the Cubs primarily, but as bad as the Royals were, the signings they made are bound to be huge help.

Clearly the Dodgers. I mean when you get 2 good players from your rivals, you did something good( Schidt, Gonzalez). Also a veteran back-up catcher like Mike Liberthal. Juan Pierre who i think they overpayed slighly, but oh well. Resignning Nomar, They don't have much pwer but they have guys who can hit, and a good, good starting pitching rotation.
