and the poor bird is going mad, the chickens are not laying there eggs and the duck is taking wild looks at him. the thorn is in his foot and he jumping about like a mad thing. he is very hard to catch so should i just shoot him and put him in the pot? or should i leavr it for a few days to see if the the pain goes down.

I would take him out of the coop and set him up with a new set of hens - a splinter group.

You could always try giving him some aspirin crushed in his food to take away the pain. I would suggest another pain killer but the paracetamol - damned parrots!

Maybe he is trying to make a kebab out of himself and has cut out the middleman by skewering himself. Who knows waht's going on in that crazy combed head of his.
