We had inherited the manana habit from the Spaniards who influenced us for almost 300 years! It is bad since we postpone alot of things!
FILIPINO TIME is really one thing I had among Filipinos! If we talk about meeting at 9am, they will come at either 10 or 11 or even later.
I had seen Filipinos who pray alot, say the rosary and serve as lay ministers in the church , however, when you see them treat their helpers or drivers, they usually say bad words and give them different food from what they eat.
Filipino politicians are corrupt! Though there are many college graduates in our country, there is no progress. We cant even survive without the help of our family.
Phippine politics is DIRTY! I had seen doctors who are politician at the same time who goes to 2-3 medical mission a day just to pose for picture taking and report this as his activities though they arent! Their family will help children, people in the jail but everything should be pictured for the sake of art! They really arent helping from the heart. They pose as good people but are really jerk inside out!
Filipinos see robbers, holdupers, carnappers! However, nobody will help you nowadays! I had a patient whose bag was snatched while in a jeepney. Her co passengers just stared at what was happening!
Crimes doesnt seem to be solved! It is being tolerated. Cellphones are snatched, the people in the barangay or even in the police knows this snatchers however, nothing is done! They might have percentage from it!
Some Filipinos pay somebody illegaly just to have things easier for them. This is very common not only in the government but also in private offices.
Filipinos doesnt want others to achieve things! Most usually criticize their colleagues! This is the crab mentality. I had seen it everywhere. Even in the US, most especially in San Diego!
Filipinos usually are great gossippers! They will do anything to destroy other people!

There is only one for me, and that is an inherent belief in the Filipino that he knows what he's doing, and is not prepared to learn new methods or adapt to changing times.
This is a generality, but I've been here 14 years and can't tell you how many times I've shown people how to do something more efficiently or faster and cheaper, only to turn my back and then return to find that they prefer to do it the way their grandfather did it.
Endearing as it may be, this is holding the country back, it's not developing because the Filipino believes that foreigners know nothing, even if they've been in their business for 30 years and have made a fortune, or not.
It's depressing to see waiters and barmen who will be the same 30 years from now instead of improving, progressing and one day owning their own places.
I know this country is not the land of opportunity, but does that mean everyone has to become apathetic and accept that their life will be one of boredom and poverty?
It's time for this nation to pick up their britches and see what they can do instead of relying on OFW's to bring in cash.
What would happen if all the countries in the world employing Filipinos suddenly decided to have Pakistani workers instead.
How would this place cope with 8 million returning Filipinos and no more International income???
Time to start thinking, there's a lot of up and coming third world countries which will soon provide better and cheaper everything than this one!

I agree with much of what has been posted here already, but will add to that one big thing and one small thing:
1) Filipinos believe every bit of gossip they hear - especially if this comes from another Filipino. People love to gossip here, and this has actually destroyed two of my relationships over the past 2 years.
2) People keep constantly pushing the "close door" button in the elevators. This is sooooooo annoying. Like they can't wait the one second for the door to close (as a few people mentioned, they are already an hour late ....) (OK, this is actually more amusing than annoying, but why???????)
I love living here so much, I've decided to let most of the negative things amuse me as opposed to annoy me because I can't (nor would I want to) change 90 million people.

-Being late by one hour or more.
3.) The Bahala attitude
-The "I do not care" attitude
4.) The personal attitude
-If you fight about business with a friednd, then the fight becomes personal, we do not treat it as Business is Business.
5.)Being CORRUPT

BUT LET US HELP OURSELVES TO DESTROY THESE ATTITUDES AND CHANGE THEM INTO GOOD ONES....
START WITH YOURSELF AND AS TIME PASSES BY YOU WILL SEE THE GOOD EFFECT.... :-)
