Like I said before -- no big long explaining --no three and four paragraphs needed here.

The republican party is of course conservitive... Which is to say, they are for individual progress. Meaning, every person has an oppertunity to do well for them selves. It's up to each and every one of us to make an effort.... You get what you give, in other words. The democrats, well they are between socialism and communism. Where they want the government to take the responsibilites out of your hands and dictate everything for you. As you may or may not know, the later is the worst political group for America

Republicans generally are for less government and lower taxes, except when they can write legislation that favors businesses above members of the public. Their real interest is in promoting the profits of corporations and easing regulations that have been set to curb bad behavior by business.
They believe that the individual citizen should fend for himself if misfortune strikes, or upon the kindness of private charity.

Republican:

Historical: Party of Abraham Lincoln

Contemporary: Party of Nixon, Ford, Bush I and II

Stance on issues: varies widely depending on the subject, there are liberal Republicans, moderates, and conservative Republicans. There are also right-wing fanatics who believe that anyone who teaches about Darwin should be stoned to death. The left-wing Republicans tend to be hawkish on national security, but behave exactly as Democrats in every other regard, supporting liberal social and economic policies.

The voting Republican generally consists of suburban and rural white males and conservative women. However, the individual politics of the average Republican varies as much as their elected counterparts, therefore it is an overgeneralization to describe a Republican in specific detail.

In essence, the Republican party acts as a counterpoint to the Democrat voting bloc, and tends to vote slightly more conservatively than the Democrats, but they are virtually indistinguishable from one another in terms of bias, partisanship, corruption, and sheer incompetence. They also tend to cooperate with one another when passing bloated pork barrel spending bills, therefore it could be argued that there is no real difference between the two parties; they act as one to destroy the United States and get filthy rich in the process.

A liberal in denial.
If in a 12 year run with the majority and both the house in senate, with the last six year the power in the white house too.
If they truly didn't welfare it would have been abolished.
If they truly didn't want abortion it would have been outlawed.Remember all of the Supreme Court Justices have been appointed by Republican presidents.

A republican a liberal in denial.

These days? No different from a democrat except that they let Jesus tell them how to govern. Both are against states rights ( the democrates in things like voteing, the republicans in things like medical mary-jane and assisted suicide), both are against personal responsibility ( the democrates in things like welfare and the republicans in things like tort reform), both are socialist though the republicans cry denial while funding things like highways rather than letting the private sector build toll roads.
I guess a republican is just a democrate who feels guilty.

Based on what I see a Republican is someone who thinks that they have a higher moral standard. Therefor they think they have to bring up the abortion issue constantly, even though they don't want to take care of the un-wanted babies themselves. They are to arrogant to listen to other opinions and will support each other and follow each other in lock-step through the gate of hell just to spite the opposition. They really worship money, even the ones that are not rich. Don't make us rich people pay more taxes because we can afford it, that's not fair. I might not be rich but my kid might be someday. Let's fight an un-provoked war and not pay for it.

a republican is a christian, who places individual freedom at the very top of their values. he believes in people's ability to overcome everything and succeed on their own. he believes that in society, the strong survives and the weak must adapt or go away (Strangely, at the same time, he often dismisses evolution). he has strong values (valid is another debate), but he will misguide you to reach his goals. he will never second-guess his values, which are often rooted in his faith, he does not value debate very much (unless if he gets what he wants from it), and he will rarely admit his mistakes.
