I would look at Alienware (www.alienware.com), Voodoo PC (voodoopc.com), Sagernotebooks.com to name a few.

These are high end gaming laptops and I used to own a Sager which lasted me a good 4 years of intense gaming and business use.

I now have an Acer 8204 with a carbon fiber lid. The new one just came out and it has the Core 2 duo. It's pretty light and runs really good. I can do a lot of video editing, play my games and work on tons of projects. I say, look at anything that is Core 2 duo or if they are too expensive, get the older Centrino Duo which are probably liquidating at a much lower price point.

im sorry to say that 400 wont buy you anythin mcuh when it comes to laptops but you cud probally get a good decent Desktop PC from somewhere like PC World... u cud try PC World for laptops as well
