There is a car parked outside my business, near one of the entrances. The car has a "For Sale" sign and have been parked there for two weeks already. Is there anything I can do to have it removed? Should I call the police saying the car was abandoned there?

Now, a second question: what about a van parked just outside as well, with signs advertising a product that directly compete with my business?

Is it on your property, or just near the entrance on a public street? If it's on your property the police will consider it a civil matter and won't be able to help you. If it is on the street, and hasn't been moved, they can ticket it and/or have it towed away.

If your state law allows, and it's on your property without permission, you can call a towing service to have it removed as a PPI (Private Property Impound) tow.

As to the van, if it's legally parked, and has current plates, why would it matter if it advertises something? If there is a phone number you might call and ask why they feel compelled to park there.

If the parking area is yours, exclusively, you might consider "Customer Parking Only -- Violators may be towed at your expense" signs to get some control over the lot.

If they're on your property, call the number on the for sale sign and ask them to remove the car, or you'll have it towed at their expence. The second one, same deal.

My opinion. Yes, I would call the law enforcment and ask them if anything can be done. The first issue, maybe. Depending where the car is parked and what the law is in that area. The second issue, it is doubtful if anything can be done. Good luck.

you need to ring your local council ( not a police issue unless it is / was involved in a crime ) most councils are 'dirty 'on anyone trying to sell their vechiles kerbside .
for q 2 . you need to contact consumer affairs ( fair trading ) to see where you sit with this issue --- although having said that --- your local council could have a view on this as well as the ' dumped ' car . good luck .

I would call the police and tell them about it. Maybe they can have them towed away.
