Depends on what you mean by contents. But the crux is specific gravity and density.Solids like corks are supported because of their porousness that has air; ditto for wood but cetain or many fluids are not supported because their density exceeds that of water. Any material exceeding the specific gravity ofwater sinks. Intuition.

if you look at the bottom of the can you will see that it curves inwards, this helps disperse the pressure inside the can. if the bottom of the can was not curved it would have a tendisy to split open as the pressure in the can is quite high.
the screte is in the curved bottom
