I'm happy to live in one of the suburbs, just which one?And which to avoid? Any idea about the job situation out there? Are there lots or is it seasonal. Also for 1 person living in or around Seattle, how much do i need to earn to live in a nice 1 bedroom apartment/house and still have enough left over to have fun.

Seattle is a great place - I lived there for a couple of years and enjoyed it immensely. There's lots of culture, scenery, and nightlife, and all the amenities that a big city should have. The only problems I had were that it is very expensive to live there and the traffic is beastly. Jobs are good right now, especially with the recovery of the airline industry and continued strength in high-tech jobs. My recommendation would be to figure out what line of work you would pursue, find a good employer (seattle.craigslist.com is a good place to search for both jobs and apartments), and then try to locate yourself as close as possible to work. Expect to pay $600-$800 for a decent 1 bedroom apartment, depending on where you look.

Wel, it was where the TV show Frasier was set (and in certain parts) was filmed, the Boeing aircraft works are situated in Seattle, the Space Needle has its fixings there too!
