Hi there,
Vaseline is ok for protection of the cuticles but it won't actually be absorbed by your matrix (the cells that lie underneath the cuticle). In my opinion, olive oil is the best cuticle oil you can use and it's free!! (Assuming of course you have it in your cupboard that is!) Even if you have to buy it, a bottle of that will last you a thousand times longer than any tiny bottle of cuticle oil will. It really is fantastic and to be honest, used in most cuticle oils anyway as the base ingridient. Ok, it won't smell of Almonds or Peach etc etc but it will do the job and will feed your nail.
Failing that, pop into your local chemist and ask for some Almond Oil. Again, it it scent free but it is pure oil straight from the Almond and is also a fantastic option. The best thing tdo do with either of these (Olive or Almond) is place a small amount in a small bowl and place that bowl in a bigger one full of hot water. The heat from the hot water in the big bowl will warm up the oil then you can place all five fingers in the small bowl for about 5-10 minutes and it will penetrate into your cuticles and voila! Your own intensive treatment for you nails minus the salon prices!!!
Hope this helps.

Ok well yes it CAN clog pores but if you do it right it won't. Dont blob a whole bunch all over your face, take a cotton ball and put it in the vaseline and rub it over your face, you can add a little more to the dry areas of your skin, and rub it in, but dont use your fingers because they could be dirty. Let it sit for like five minutes. Scrub your face off really good ( I do this in the shower when I wash my face because it is easier to use the shower head than to splash your face) and wash your face with soap and water. If your face is still greasy take a wash cloth and wet it with really hot water, use that to put on your face and rub off the rest of the vaseline. Vaseline is also good for chapped lips, put it on your lips before you go to bed and when you wake up your lips wont be chapped.

Yes, that would work just fine.
Also a fun little tip, if you want to moisturize your feet you can use Vaseline for that too. Put it on your heels and whatnot then stick some socks on. In the morning they'll be much softer.

It can be used. It won't do anywhere near as good a job but is better than nothing.
