Security settings as suggested could do it, but I don't see how MSN would be on the list. You didn't post which browser you are using or what kind of error messages you are getting. I would say the first thing to do is to try an alternate browser, such as firefox http://www.getfirefox.com, you might have a browser that isn't supported by sites.
If that doesn't work, check out you computer settings, make sure you don't have any spyware or firewall software that blocks websites, such as a "kids safe" setting, and if you do, disable it. Some symantec tuff has a built in firewall with a surfing level, so you might need to go through all the settings of your firewall/secuirty software to find it.
Finally, one thing to do, is to open a command prompt on windows, start-run, type in cmd and hit enter. On a mac, go to finder, applications, utilities and select terminal.
Yhen type in ping adressyoucan'tgetto.com , some sites, such as MSN have a firewall that prevents a ping, so try multiples, if you are still getting no results, you will see a statement that looks like Ping wayn.com (217.148.33.4): 56 data bytes or similiar. (Wayne and MSN do not respond to a ping)
Go ahead and use the IP address, so an example would be ping 217.148.33.4, a good output is at the end. If you can get it to work via ip address but not domain name, I would call up your ISP and complain about your DNS servers, since that means it isn't resolving the domain name, but it can get to the IP. If the IP address doesn't ping at all, then definitely something wrong with your computer.
Anyways, jsut some troubleshooting tips.
Imac:~ Admin$ ping google.com
PING google.com (72.14.207.99): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 72.14.207.99: icmp_seq=0 ttl=234 time=42.696 ms
64 bytes from 72.14.207.99: icmp_seq=1 ttl=234 time=48.695 ms
64 bytes from 72.14.207.99: icmp_seq=2 ttl=234 time=44.536 ms

Check your secuity settings. Also, you didn't say how old your computer was? And maybe those sites are just too much for it to deal with? Try closing all other windows while loading them.
And maybe your computer is just slow? Leave it for a while...?
