I totally understand what you are going through. I am currently 38 weeks and it is only now that my nausea seems to be subsiding.

When I was first pregnant (about 4-5 weeks) I was really nauseous, until the vomiting kicked in at about 7 weeks. It then did not stop until I was about 6 mths into my pregnancy. I worked pretty much the whole time I have been pregnant, so I know what you mean about no energy.

Apparently ginger has been proven to settle morning sickness (depending on the severity) especially when taken with Vitamin B.

I found that neither of these things worked for me, but then my morning sickness was pretty severe.

The main thing I found that worked for me was getting my partner to make my breakfast for me so that I did not have to get out of bed on an empty stomach. (I know this sounds weird but believed me it worked) Apparently if you eat something before getting out of bed it can really help.

I also found that "grazing" throughout the day really helped so make sure you have some snacks with you to nibble on. Apparently by preventing yourself from being hungry you hold off the feelings of nausea. Make sure not to make yourself too full though, as this can have the same effect and you will find yourself feeling the same if not worse as if you let yourself get hungry.

Good Luck and hope I was able to help!

An upset stomach is one of the most common discomforts during pregnancy. Nausea is a result of hormonal changes and most often occurs early in pregnancy until your body adjusts to the increased production of hormones. Nausea can begin in early pregnancy, but is usually gone by the fourth month. It can occur at any time of the day but may be worse in the morning when your stomach is empty (this is often called "morning sickness") or if you are not eating enough. Recommendations: 1. If nausea is a problem in the morning, eat dry foods like cereal, toast or crackers before getting out of bed. Or, try eating a high-protein snack such as lean meat or cheese before going to bed (protein takes longer to digest). 2. Eat small meals or snacks every 2-3 hours rather than three large meals. Eat slowly and chew your food completely. 3. Sip on fluids throughout the day. Avoid large amounts of fluids at one time. Try cool, clear fruit juices, such as apple or grape juice. 4. Avoid spicy, fried, or greasy foods. 5. If you are bothered by strong smells, eat foods cold or at room temperature and avoid odors that bother you. 6. Talk to your doctor about taking vitamin B6 or other treatments. Contact your doctor if your vomiting is constant or so severe that you can't keep fluids or foods down. This can cause dehydration and should be treated right away.

I am old fashioned. When I was pregnant, I didn't mind morning sickness because, to me, that just meant that my baby was alive and well. The morning sickness drugs that were on the market when I was pregnant was proved to do harm to the baby. Thank God that I did not attempt to make life easier at the expense of my babies. Just enjoy the fact that you are able to be pregnant, that you are allowed to have morning sickness to ensure the safety of your baby, and that you are blessed.

Plain crackers. Coke that has gone "flat". Practice meditation and learn to slow your breathing.
