Yes! But it depends how old you are and what kind of books you like reading...I first started reading it when I was about 15 and I gave up after about page 19 cos the characters confused me and I wasnt "feeling it". About 4 years later I tried again and got really into and totally loved it. To illustrate my point, I got to a few pages before the end and I stopped reading cos I couldnt bear the thought of actually ending it! It is now my favourite book.
I would persevere for a little longer, if it becomes too much like hard work, put it aside for a while but dont abandon it completely.

I think "A Suitable Boy" is worth reading since it's readable and would portray key characters regarding some Indian ways of life. Keep going, little by little, concentrate and you'd love it.

Yes, it's fantastic. Don't worry about keeping all the characters straight - he keeps on introducing new ones right up until the end. Just enjoy the language and depiction of India.

Yes Vikram Seth's depiction of India, her culture and humour is superb. Haven't read it for a number of years but remember thoroughly enjoying it

My mother advised me not to read it. She said the book is good but the ending is not worth it.

yes but you will need to concentrate and read the whole book fairly quickly or you will forget who is whom. it is well worth reading.
