A true fool, who either believes in something that has been proven incorrect or will not listen to the best of expert advice on a subject or topic or continues to endanger his/her own health knowing this fact, is worthy of pity for not listening for his own sake. A general term expressing more another's view of the circumstances surrounding an individual and his .her problems which the latter can, but will not, repair.

It depends. If they are naturally foolish, I pity the fool. If they are willfully foolish, then I don't pity the fool.
