posh and you were at uni and you had this commonish friend who kept jokingly copying your accent and making comic remarks about your posh school and rich parents would you be offended?This person has made it very clear she is joking and apologised if she caused offence and also says she won't do it anymore! shes really nice and i know she is only joking and doesn't mean anything by it! Would this annoy/offend you or should i just lighten up!?

You say your friend is "commonish" while you are posh, at "uni", have a distinct accent and rich parents.

I used to have the same situation years ago. At first i was offended but after a few weeks she will get sick of it and if she is a genuinely a nice person, I mwould take it with a pinch of salt.

yes it would annoy me i go to a sixth form college that is very posh, which can be difficult at times with my north london accent, just ask this girl to stop or see how she responds to you mimicking her accent. just because your from a different background doesnt mean you should feel apart. im guessing jealousy is the main cause of this little hiccup.

Why would one be offended my dear child. I am merely who It is that I am, for this specified reason I choose to not take great offence at the mocking of my class and stature in modern society. I would say she is just trying to mimic you. I would be flattered. If she is doing in a nasty way i.e trying to put you down then i would say she is jealous of you and maybe not the sort of person you need to hang around with. I hope that helps. x

3 .ignore her
