hair dryer to soften it them use a putty knife to scrape it off then use wd40 to get the residue off then wash the window with a cleaner.

Acetone, the kind found in nail polish remover. Might take a few tries to loosen the adhesive enough for it to come off, but it does work. Just recommend to not let it drip on any paint you might have on the window sill. Hope that helps, good luck!

Best thing I've found to remove sticky residue from anything is a product called Goo-Gone. Easily found where cleaning products are sold.
