I assume you are asking if AMD processors are better than Intel's lately
and the answer depends on what you mean by lately. If you mean the newest crop of processors then Intel's Core 2 Duo processors are generally faster. Up until mid yr when the Core 2 Duo was introduced AMD had the faster processor. This might Change in mid 2007 when AMD intoduces it's new chip and new fab Plant.
On the Server side things are a little closer but Intel has the advantage of using much less power than current AMD offerings as far as raw computing power it's pretty close

That was the case for a very long time, and I am still a huge fan of AMD and will continue to use their products, but the new Core 2 Duo processors that Pentium has recently came out with are extremely nice and can compete with AMD in both price and speed. The fact that Pentium can compete with AMD when it comes to price is what has put them back into the game. Before you had to spend twice as much to get a decent processor from Pentium.

The Pentium processor is no longer made. Intel's latest consumer processor lines are the Core and Core 2 lines, and no, at this time AMD processors are not better than the Core or Core 2 processors.
