spotty dress, should i wear tights (panty hose) with them (would this look wierd?) or brave the cold weather and go bare legged. The dress is black, fitted, knee length with thick straps with tiny spots all over it.

Get a fake bake!! (Fake tan). It will look much better than tights. Besides, when you've had a drink you'll have your beer jacket on anyway so you won't feel the cold. x

Will the majority of the party by inside? If so you'll only be cold a little while right? Specifically perhaps when you're travelling there... so I wouldn't bother with the tights and just brave the elements briefly. Plus unless you have a problem with your legs, like they're seriously white (like mine haha) I think no tights is nicer - plus easier to disguise under a dress.

However, if its not inside and you'll be in the cold a lot, you should definately have tights. My only advice here would be to go with nude ones, and take the time to get a really expensive, good pair - or even stockings and suspenders?! It is Christmas after all.

Might also be a good idea to take a spare pair in case of ladders/runs.

You could do either. Because your dress is black you could definately wear tights. Also, if you decide against black tights, but want the 'au naturale' look, you could always wear skin coloured tights - just make sure you get the right colour for you!
Also, It could depend on the shoes you're wearing. Open toe - no tights. Make sure you feel comfortable in whatever you're wearing.

Have a great party!!!

If you feel you have to wear tights, I'd invest in some that are your skin colour- they do actually look natural, they're easy to get (even local supermarkets sell them) and they'll keep you a bit warmer than wearing none.

Hi, I'd wear tights. Apparently you can actually but some which are toe-less, they have a small hook which goes between your toes so they don't look naff with open-toed shoes. I believe they can be bought in good department stores, such as Debenhams or M&s. Good luck!
