It is like saying if Himani= Bimani and Bimani=1 then Himani=2.

If that is all of the information you have then you could assign any value to x or y.

In this situation they are equal. So if we break it down into real world examples it would be.

x=y
x=1 puppy

Well if x equals y, And x= one puppy then y must be the same thing. So y=1 puppy.

If you write them together with your answer you show that 1= 2 if x=1 and y=2. This could not be true because the only thing equal to 1 is 1. I hope this helps.

YOU HAVE MENTIONED IN THE QUESTION THAT x=y and that x=1 so even y=1

this shows that y is also = 1
