I really do hope that the history books are up to date because we have been fed a lot of fairy stories passing as fact for many, many years. Every treaty that the government made with Indian tribes was broken so that should tell you something. One positive sign is that you brought the issue up...bravo for you! I am part Cherokee and the Trail of Tears from NC to Oklahoma where so many women and children's lives were lost due to "relocation" is appaling. Not only that, they were classified as not even being citizens of their own land! What is wrong with this picture? It is a very sad part of American history and one that I hope everyone will know the truth about soon...thank you!

Its on its way. I grew up in Wash. State and we learned about it in History in 7th grade.
