Patience is a function of hope and positive thinking. Degree of patience can be improved by inculcating the positive thinking. We need to deliberately and painstakingly train our mind to dwell on the brighter side of everything.

just sitting for a day when you could be doing something is learning patience or buy a video game system and get a rpg game now figuring a way out just to get to the requires a most LARGE amount of patience try out a martial arts or boxing class they might teach you to learn patience i would have to say just slow down if you just wait a little longer it will come to you.

I once sought professional help for a particular mannerism I had. The thing was related to lack of patience. The professionals adviced me to slow down. Slow down everything. Slow down your pace of walking, slow down your speed of eating, slow down your speedy conversations etc.

You start from now on and do this conciously for about 6 months and by that time your normal pace will slow down on its own and you can gain some patience.

Have children, and then try really, really, really, hard not to kill them when they anger you. After awhile, you're so beat down, they can just about burn the house down before you feel like getting up and scolding them.
