The Pakistan batting line-up looks very strong and stable, and I am picking Pakistan to at least make the Quarters, maybe better. It really will be up to the bowling though to see how they can go from there.
Well it is going to be interesting to see if Shoaib Akhtar get's to play or not. He is still one of the best fast bowlers in the world and will definately make a difference for their world cup campaign.
Abdul Razzaq is having a good year, with 20 ODI wickets in 20 matches, although he has been a bit expensive with over 700 runs conceeded at 35.
Afridi isn't as tight as he should be getting 14 but at an average of 39.
Naved-ul-Hasan also has 20 wickets at 35.
Mohammed Asif has 21 at 32.
Then there is Malik who has been tight this year, but only taken 11 wickets.
Anjum looks a prospect although inexperienced. He has 11 wickets this year.
I think the pick of Pakistan's bowlers atm is Umar Gul who has taken 10 wickets at 27, but only played 8 games, so he seems to be doing all right.
The problem is they need to be able to take wickets AND keep the runs down, which they don't seem to be doing well enough atm.
I think Pakistan really need to get Sami back to form, bowling well, and get Akhtar operating again if he is allowed. (The ICC is investigating the overturning of his ban).
Anyway, as I said, I think they are looking good enough for the 1/4's though.

I love Pakistani cricket, but I am amazed that with so much talent they are unpredictable. Pakistani bowlers if Shoaib and Asif are included can be world beaters only if they take care of their line and lenght and like Imran Khan said you need specialists to make the best team in the world all rounders if very good can be a asset otherwise a very big burden

Pakistan team is a very balanced side with class and accomplished batsmen like Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yunis Khan and mohd. Yusuf, some of the best bowlers in the world and very good allrounders. However, unfortunately they are not at all consistant, which is the main problem with Pakistan Team. If Pakistan Team performs to their potential, they can beat any team in the world on their day.

Being a Pakistani I love Pak cricket team. Pakistani bowlers and batsmen are immensly talented and they have given some extra ordinary world class performances since they played their first ever test match. With the inclusion of accuracy of Asif and sheer pace of Shoaib we expect that Pakistan stands a good chance in 2007 W.C and in batting likes of Inzamam,Younis and Yousuf need no introduction. When it comes to all rounders then we have dangerous Razzaq, guily Rana and of course mighty Afridi all of them are capable to change the course of a cricket game in the matter of few overs or I should say in deliveries. I wish our cricket team to perform well in the prestigious cup and I dont agree with the guy who said Pakistan need coaches like Gregg Chappel. Indian team is may be the worst ever team under his coaching.

Yes I do, the trouble with Pakistan is they need a guy like Greg Chapel to coach then and a better management and organizational structure. I think they should have coaching clinics and academies like the one Dennis Lille set up in India.

They are the team I like to watch but because they are so talented the get complacent and lazy. Too much talent should not be wasted.
