It's odd that you mention that. A friend and I went to a community thing called, "Saturday Night on the Town" where there were live bands, food stands, etc. Anyway, there was a cross dresser there who was dressed like an old lady, even though he was a young man. The friend I was with made me proud, though. Because a bunch of young punks started playing "keep away" with his wig. My friend is just a tiny woman. And she just jumped up and grabbed the wig, gave the punks a really dirty look, like "Shame on you", and handed the guy back his wig. But as to your question, maybe they dress that way because someone they admire or admired was of that age or something. Anyway, thanks for the memory. Peace.

Because they're not really transexuals, and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near hormones, let alone a surgeon. They get a kick out of wearing the clothes and living the life. The cross dressers just get turned on by it all.

When I had my surgery, the nurses all came and had a chat with me, and said they were fed up of people like you describe. However, as I was one of the few who had shown up in just jeans and top, with no make up, they had already worked out that I would do well afterwards.

a true transsexual is only trying to fit in to society and most could not really care what they wear
a transvestite on the other hand will wear what ever it takes to make them feel sexy
and what says sexy to some one what is sexy
there is no one answer to that question as every one sees sexy differently school girls and uniforms is another one used a lot as it represents what many girls and females wear in most guys world
they other thing is growing up being taught that it is wrong to wear those things we want to try it and do try it
it is all about self expression
being true to them self's and living a dream
being them selves
and for some being free and rebellious to society
they are not hurting any one so why not let them continue to be true to them self's
if it is some thing you do not want to look at
don't look
i am wearing shorts and a top like a very boring girl would i sleep in a nightie
i go to work in a pair of shorts and a top
this is my way i live and i am a transsexual
the grandma loo is the easiest to do and that is why many do it
i would rather look young and beautiful but still be myself

When a compulsive cross-dresser puts on women's clothes then his brain releases a series of neurotransmitters which give him a feeling of well-being, sexual gratification, pleasure and self-identity. These neurotransmitters are very powerful, they are the same ones associated with addictive behavior, (drugs, gambling, even sex). In any event, the compulsive cross-dresser feels a NEED to cross-dress. If he tries to stop, he can't. He just returns often worse than before. He thinks about cross-dressing all the time... He can't wait for the next opportunity to cross-dress.

If he does not gain control over himself he will follow a pattern of addiction that will include: (1) He will try different ways of achieving the "high" he derives from cross-dressing. This may include humiliation such as dressing up as a maid and cleaning toilets. (2) He will work harder and harder to achieve an exaggerated feminine image. This may mean looking like a prostitute or even an yound adolescent girl. (3) He will create a female alter-ego and give "her" a name. He will even fall in love with his alter-ego. (5) Finally when he is around 40 years old, he will experience a crisis where in order to achieve his "high" he considers risky behavior; like going in public, or having surgery to become a woman 24/7.

In the meantime, cross-dressers are normally heterosexual. They often get married and have children. They want their wives to participant with them and encourage their cross-dressing. Unfortuantely for them, their wives don't like this, and complain that they feel like their husband's second love. They hide it from their children or remind their children to keep "daddy's secret" or risk ridicule from their peers. Oftentimes, the cross-dresser will love his family but the addiction is so strong that he will leave his family in order to further his desire to cross-dress.

Same reason some women dress like grannies or prostitutes, it's down to choice. Incidentally - have you considered that the reason you think this is because they're the ones you notice? Most transgender people, in my experience, dress very carefully to fit in with their chosen gender, and you would be hard pressed to tell them apart from anyone else.

I can't say I dress like your Nan.... because I've never met her !

I do dress like a prostitute sometimes... And why ? Because it's a thrill, it's fun, and like it or not.... a lot of guy's like it as a look and I dress to impress those guys.

As one of the other answers here points out... I suspect you're not seeing many TS's dressed like your nan, they're pretty difficult to read, those girls REALLY try hard to blend, and they manage it with excellence. You're probably seeing bus station toilet trash, mostly not even guy's who'd consider themselves as crossdressers, just fetishists who have hit upon the idea of crossdressing... For now.

When we do dress as your nan, it's probably just because like most girls, we dont need to wear our best party clothes 24/7. I wear jeans and a teeshirt most days, with courts and lippy, just the same as thousands of other females do.

It may be that they are trying so hard to look feminine that they wear an exceptional amount of make up and clothes that only women would wear, i.e short skirts, belly tops etc to make themselves feel as feminine as possible.

I'm a woman and I always wear trousers/jeans and t-shirts etc but if they dressed like that they wouldn't feel any different from being male would they?

not all of us do, in fact i dress very conservitavely, but i can still look sexy with ouit being slutty. for some its more of a sexual thing than it is an identity thing, and so they tend to go a little crazy they dress more to express sexuality rather than gender.
