They were both great defenders but had different styles of play and strengths, Des Walker was like a rocket from a standing start and was capable of catching any striker, Hendry was a rock in the middle of defence from set plays and corners. Both great!

Better defender - Colin Hendry. If you had asked who was the better footballer - probably Walker. Think Des would win a keepie-up competition between them both, but Colin would win a tackling contest.

Des Walker got too Italian in the England vs Norway game... still complaining to the ref with his back to the ball, as Norway took a freekick and scored from it. I can't forgive him that.
Colin Hendry looked like an extra from Braveheart. Pretty intimidating presence. Some solid defending and play, but nothing that inpirational imo - just a solid defender who was worth his place in many a team.

Hendry obviously. What he did was fantastic. One of the best Scottish defenders, even scoring 2 goals in an international match.
