Majority of people spend searching in the fridge at night without turning on a light, like the kitchen light,no one looks in the freezer for a midnight snack.
Some freezer do have lights in them, the cold has nothing to do with burning out the bulb,if so your deep freeze freezer would not have a light in it.People who say that it would burn out because of the cold is wrong. The light doesn't come on until you open the door of the fridge or freezer,The bulb in the freezer is a low watt bulb and would not get hot enough to burn when the cold temp hits it.

It is too cold in the freezer and the light bulb could freeze and burst.

Says who? my fridge has light both in the fridge and freezer.

I think one of the reasons is that old refrigerators has frost in the freezer. you know that chunk of ice that just grows and grows and then you have to thaw it off every year. newer refrigerators has frost free freezers which enable them to have lights in them with out fearing the frost might get into the light system.

A light bulb will not work when placed below a certain temperature therefore it will not work when frozen in a freezer. But most freezers nowadays have lights in the them!!

Ummmmmmmm

penguins only come out at night???

I think that you might be right... the sudden heat might make it explode...but then again they make a light that goes inside an oven... so I don't see why they can't make one for the freezer.....you got me on that one.

its because no midget would stand the coldness of the freezer, well, maybe a mini penguin, or a mini-moose, but those are expensive, most people just have a regular midget turn off and on their fridge lights, you know?

Heh. Good question. Perhaps the light would not be able to stand the intense cold and would freeze itself? Some makes and models do have lights.

people tend to over stuff their freezers because most are smaller than we would like. any protrusion such as a light bulb (even protected) ends up either broken or covered up.
