Use a DOWNLOAD ACCELERATOR!!! Or, find a better source for downloading. Sometimes the limiting factor of downloads is not you but the amount the site is allowing you to download at. Also, consider upgrading your connection to a higher dsl service because as an average, you only get about a max of 10% of your total max bandwidth.

I would say keep checking on the connection. I assume you are using Cable or DSL, which means when you order that 128 kbps connection, you are purchasing a "UP TO 128 kbps" not a dedicated / always 128 kbps connection.

First off, check to see if there is anything else sucking up the line. Anyone else use the network?

Secondly, have the internet company check to see if there might be a problem with the line.

Third, are you doing any kind of bittorrent download? With Broadband generally if you upload, it really kills the download speed quite a bit.

Hope this helps,
