It is not too late unless it is after the 1st b-day. lol If you are ready then go for it, If they think that you are asking for a gift then that is there fault. I am sure most people will completely understand, and oh well to the others. You could always put a picture of her at birth and now, just saying that she was born six months ago and now you are half way to the 1st birthday. They do grow fast and though 5 months may sound like plenty of time to get announcements out, boy how that time flies. I am sure it feels like yesterday you brought that baby home!! Good luck and congratulations to you and your family!!

I was wondering the same. I had my baby a month ago tomorrow and have not gotten around to sending out birth announcements. Of course all my friends, family, and coworkers know about her, but I think it's a cute gesture.

you have ample time to send the announcements...people do realize that you have just pushed out a baby 3 weeks ago and have some adjusting to do!!!!
people normally dont send theirs out until it has been at least 1 to 1 1/2 months....
we are having newborn pictures done when our daughter is 1 or 2 weeks old and they will make the announcement out of the picture....we wont expect to see our announcements for at least a month...so your safe!!!! take your time and relax!!!!
congrats!

Absolutely not!!!! You've been busy with a newborn and everyone understands that.
Receiving a birth announcement even 3 months afterwards is acceptable. Everyone wants to hear good news like this!!
And congratulations!

do birth announcements with his one month baby picture.
You have a lot of options open to you. Other people understand you have your hands full with a new baby.

Not at all... the adjustment period is normal and requires you to make a lot of life changes. When you are ready and have some time, you can let everyone know. No one will be offended with a late notification (unless of course they are the father :).

Of course not!
I would say "too late" is after you send the invitations to their first birthday party!
