Can you actually feel when the baby drop's?

Im 34 weeks pregnant with my second child and i was just curiuos if you can actually feel it when the baby drops? My first pregnancy was a schedueld c setion so i never got to experience it and now im having another schedueld c section.

The notion that the baby "drops" may be giving you a bit of a misconception. The baby doesn't drop suddenly, but moves further down into the pelvis; it's a process that takes a little time, rather than a sudden event. Most women tend to experience the need to urinate more frequently, as the baby is often pressing on the bladder (there's only so much room in there, after all!). Some women experience a lessening of heartburn, and may be able to breathe a bit easier, but all in all, it's a subtle change.

You can tell when the baby drops, but as for the specific moment well I am not sure on that one. I am 38 weeks pregnant and my bub "dropped" a week and half ago. I noticed it because all of a sudden I had all this extra pressure down around my pelvis where his head was, and a nice new gap between my breasts and stomach, where beforehand they had been squished together. I also noticed it was easier to breathe.

Sure enough at my next visit to the doctors they said the baby was "engaged". Also the baby can drop at different times in the pregnancy whether it be a few weeks before the birth, or the same day.

As for not being able to experience it, I can totally understand that you may find it frustrating, but believe me you are only missing out on needing to pee constantly. And I mean constantly! As soon as my bub dropped I found I was having to wake up 6 to 7 times a night to pee.

That's a great question!!!

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm 33 1/2 weeks and last night I felt the baby move more than I ever have. He was a movin' & a shakin'! Lots of pressure on my pelvic region and lots of friction, almost like rubbing your knuckles together. I doubt he is dropping because as of 5 days ago, he was breech. My guess is that he's got my bony butt and he's moving it around on my pelvic bones!!!

I think I'm also going to have a C-Section as well, but we'll see if he turns himself around in the next few weeks!!

I never actually felt him drop, like there wasn't a moment when I was like "Oh, the baby dropped!" but I knew that he had, because my stomach looked a little lower and I could breathe better! I could also eat a whole meal again too. Oh and I started to get a lot of pressure in my crotch area...and a lot of sharp pains from his head pushing against my cervix.

yes...i knew right away when my baby dropped (which was last week)

you start to feel a lot more pressure on your lower abdominal area due to the baby starting to settle its head in your pelvic region....some women feel like they can breath a little better and finally take deep breathes because the baby isnt crowding up near the diaphram anymore.....you have to go to the bathroom a lot more because now the baby is pushing more on the bladder....sore backs and sciatica may flare up due to the pressure and weight of the baby pulling you down....and you can physically see your belly looks lower than before

I knew when both of mine dropped. One day I could waddle around in reasonable comfort, next day I'd be walking like I had a watermelon between my thighs. Most uncomfortable :)
