You are absolutely right, we are still mentally not free. Ok, if western culture is tempting us then there is nothing bad about it but we must adopt only good and encouraging things from their culture. On the contrary, we are blindly behind them and meanwhile we have lost our values too and these mistakes are steeply pushing us downhill.

We have still a long way ahead of us to qualify ourselves to be called a free nation. So long as a large number of us go without one square meal a day, we are not able to stop trafficking on women and children, exploitation in the name of caste, creed, region and religion, we cannot be called a free nation.

You are right to some extent ~ freedom has several dimensions.
Political Freedom;
Economic Freedom;
Social Freedom;
Emotional Freedom;
Freedom of Thought; etc., etc., which are all interdependent on each other. In fact we are still at the starting point of this cycle.

Yes! We are free!
Otherwise you cannot ask this question.
You can occupy a lake, When evicted you can ask for compensation.
You can charge heavily for education and ask for quota in selection.
You don't want "Q" and you don't want to say Than"Q"
(We have taken many thing from British, English,dress ect but not those two Q)
We are very much free.

THE FREEDOM ACTUALLY WE GOT IS NOT IN THAT MANNER WHAT OUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS THOUGHT TO BE,BECAUSE THE FEELING OF PATRIOTISM IS NOT DEVELOPED TO OUR COUNTRYMEN,DUE TO SEVERAL REASONS.
THE VALUES,THOUGHTS INSTILLED TO OUR COUNTRYMEN WERE NOT MEANINGFUL AS IT DID NOT GIVE THE DESIRED RESULT.
