I asked this guy if he was getting a strawberry shortcake tatoo and even if he won't admit it, it upset him.The thing is,he made a joke about me,and we continue to rib each other(jokingly of course because we're acquiantances),but it seems what i said upset him in more ways than one.Was this an inappropriate joke directed towards him?In other words, does saying something like that insult someone' manhood?

My guess is that he does not know who Strawberry Shortcake is and did not get the joke. Or perhaps, yes, it hurt his ego that you would suggest he was not manly. After all, no manly-man would get a SS tattoo! Or maybe he DID want one and you made him feel silly! LOL!

First, as a man I wouldn't get a tatoo of a character from a cartoon directed at 3 to 5 year old girls. Secondly, I don't understand what the joke is? If a guy asked you if you were getting a tatoo of the word WHORE on your ***, would that be a joke?

I wouldn't think that would be insulting, even if he's gay and doesn't want to admit that. Since you're acquaintances, you could tell him that your comment about the tatoo seemed to have upset him and that you hadn't meant for it to.

Is he a homophobe or just a closeted homosexual? That is the only reason, aside from he felt you did not see him as masculine and he likes you, that I can think he would find that so very offensive.
