Kim Hyung Chil of KOREA REPUBLIC was the athlete who died at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Mr Kim, an experienced Olympian, died when his horse Bundaberg Black fell on him after stumbling on Fence 8 in the equestrian cross country event on Thursday, 07 December 2006. it was the eight deaths at the Asian Games & the first involving an athlete.

Kim Hyung Chil. His horse fell on him during the cross country race (part of the Equestrian Three-Day Event). He had been competing for Korea yfor the last 18 years. He was still living when they took him from the venue of the accident. but was pronounced dead 7 minutes after admission to Khalifa Hospital in Doha.
