Yawning doesn't mean you're tired, yawning is the body's way of getting more oxygen into your system. It's true that when you start to get tired your breathing pattern slows and so your body initiates a yawn to counteract it. However, yawning does not necessarily mean you're tired.

First off, are you getting enough rest at home? Are the meetings at a bad time for you, like after lunch?

My guess is (if you're getting enough rest) that it's your body posture during the meeting that is making your body yawn. Sit up straight and breathe regularly, and the yawning will cease.

Find yourself a needle and attach it to the side of your pen and then cover it up somehow. Then hold it in your hand during the meeting and when you feel the need to yawn, discreetly drop your hands to your lap and proceed to jab the needle lightly into your thigh. Make sure no one sees you doing this, because if it's a really, really boring meeting, they may want to borrow it, and that's just not healthy. People get diseases that way.

have the guy behind you hit you with his taser that always keeps me awake ! but seriously if you are having that problem the speaker needs to perk things up a little other than that all you can do is eat 4 or 5 no-doz and drink a lot of coffee you won't be able to sleep for a day or two but you won't yawn

You think THIS is bad? i am insomniac - except during meetings, whenI frequently fall asleep! Once I caught myself as I was falling off the chair. Another time my chin fell out of my cupped hand and hit the table. My colleagues are used to it now but it is embarrassing when I have to sit in a meeting with strangers. I try to sit near an open window and sip water continuously.
