Some kids have written on my garage door with their fingers. The door seems to have paint that has gone powdery with time and is easy to write on with a finger. What's the best way to clean off the writing?

As previously stated painting would be the best option. You may also want to figure out how old the paint is on the door. Powdering could indicate old and possibly lead based. If so you would be advised to sand it to wood prime it paint it and neighborhood parents. Vik

sand it, prime it, and paint it 2 coats of a high quality enamel gloss paint (very easy to wash) Also, dont paint it white, thats just like a blank canvas to all the little f*ckers that love to do grafitti. should catch the little sh*ts and make them do the painting and make their parents pay for the paint!

I'd try going to an auto parts store and getting some rubbing compound. It will take the powder off.

Best option: Sand the door down and REPAINT IT!
