The best recent concert I saw was Blues Traveler. John Popper has a hell of a voice and despite the small crowd the band played their hearts out and had lots of fun.

The best concert I ever went to was back in the early 90's. Sandstone Amphitheater near Kansas City played host to Mathew Sweet, They Might Be Giants, The Hothouse Flowers, and Midnight Oil along with a couple of opening acts. Sadly, each act only played about 40 minutes to an hour until they got to Midnight Oil; but the crews worked at record pace getting the equpment and instruments switched for each act (20 minutes between acts).

For best small venue concerts (clubs) my vote is tied between Buddy Guy, **** Dale, and the Smokin' Joe Kubeck Band. All are incredible tallents and deserve to be heard by everyone.

Though I really enjoy seeing Boston live, I have to say that the 2 Gary Numan concerts I've seen were amazing. A totally underrated musician.

- Divine Comedy, where he only had piano/guitar, an accordian and a double bass - no percussion, massively different arrangements of all the songs
- My first ever concert - Queen at Knebworth 1986, 120,000 people, of course never knew at the time it would turn out to be their last concert (with Freddie)
