Hi all, another question :)

What age do I need to be able to fly alone from England into America? I thought 17 was a legal age.
Also, to use the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), do I need to be a certain age to use that too? And if so, what?

Do I need parents consent? etc

Thank you very much again
Oliver

At 18 you can fly alone even without parents consent. Below 18, you can fly as an unaccompanied minor but you have to secure a parent's consent.

18 is NOT the legal age for 'everything' in America ... for example, you can't buy alcohol in most states until you're 21.

That being said, for immigration and tourism purposes, 18 would be considered the age of majority in America. Then you can fly wherever you want.

I have never heard of the VWP being age-based, but I am sure your parents would still have to consent to that, in addition to consenting to the trip. If they do not consent to the trip, you would be considered a runaway here.
