In most cases you nor the company can do anything until you are released from doctors care with are without a disaility rateing. Listen to your lawyer and enjoy your workmens comp. The lawyer can want to claim the world but can only claim what the doctor says. When you do settle make sure that any future complications involving your injuries are covered in your settlement. Because unless it is stated that they are covered you will be responsible for any future problems and bills.

Talk to your lawyer...The work place is going to try and make an offer, a low bid will call it...Do not except this, tell them you have to think about it and leave them hanging for a while...
You said they claimed it wasn't work related but, now they want to give you money...They are basically say it is work related...
Now make sure when you settle that your lawyer either gets enough for medical care for the time you think you need it, or wait till your docs clear you to except offer...Because, from experience i can tell you make sure your stable, or have other insurance for long term care...The lawyer wants money, OK that's there job, if you don't feel comfortable with whats offer do not take it...Take time to think before you say yes...They can wait a few days...
Are you can getting Workmans Comp? You should be if your not...Do not apply for any other benefits while on it, can cause trouble down the line....If doc says your permanent and stable and after you get your settlement , you can apply for benefits from social security...I could go on about this...Feel better soon

well, being said that they pretty much were "good for nothings" by telling you that it's not work related, and now that you've gotten a lawyer, they're making an offer, admitting that it's work related....that tells you that the offer's nothing compared to what you'll get after the lawsuit! They want to do anything and make any offer to keep their hands clean...no concern for you...so, yea...don't speak to them anymore about the issue, and refuse all deals until the law has something to say about it...you're pretty much already seeing green $$ :D

you need to hold off and get all of the medical advise there is to be had. even then you should not settle with the "lump sum" because that closes the book for good. if you should, in future, have further repercussion or ailment from this incident then you'd be on your own.
your lawyer has been through many such cases and can advise you and arrange for any funding forthcoming to you.

Please talk to your lawyer and be guided by what they say.
Do not give in to quickly to the offer made, until you have a full report from your doctors, about your ability to work in the future, so you are paid fairly for your injuries.
Good luck and take care
