Corazon Aquino is 1st lady president of the Philippines and the husband of Ninoy Aquino. They both opposed martial law declared by Ferdinand Marcos. So, Cory led a non-violent rally. The people gave food and even rosaries to the soldiers. Then, Marcos resigned and went to Hawai.
How do I know this stuff? I'm the grandson of the right hand of Marcos.

Philippine political leader. After the assassination of her husband, Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. (1932-1983), on his return to the Philippines from political exile, she ran for President (1986) against 20-year incumbent Ferdinand Marcos. Following the apparently fraudulent election, Marcos fled the country and Aquino became President (1986-1992).

Corazon Aquino.
The wife of Benino Aquino, slain by Marco supporters upon his return to the Philippine Islands.
Benino was widely thought to have been winning the 1977-1978 'elections' in the P.l. when Marcos rounded up all the other people running against him.
Benino hid out in Mindinao and was followed by death squads for years. He returned to the Philippines publicly amid widespread thought he wouldnot make off the runway in Manila.
He was killed as he entered the airport itself off the runwau by a "crimainlly insane person" according to the Philippine Constabulary of the day.
A thinly disguised assissination by either Marcos or Marocs supporters. Corazon ran for the office of President and won.
Affectionately known as "Cora" to her loyal supporters.

For a 1st time baby-kisser, even if she got here from a quite effective political prolonged kinfolk, she really did o.k.. It looked that she didnt attempt this a lot for the duration of her time. even with the undeniable fact that the way I see it (technically only realized it after many years...too youthful to remember and decipher political stuff for the duration of her reign), she has made and finished drastically to carry the Philippines from the great droop that Marcos left the country with. best success may be the modification of the structure. She confident prioritized this to dodge any dictatorship plan by destiny presidents. Which, regrettably, the present administration is tying to protest so she (GMA) may be interior the seat for life. wish this facilitates. i wish you'll have a good day. =D
