I would quote an experience of President APJ Abdul Kalam on a leader who owned failure of an experiment, but given chance to his junior to own its success. That great inspiring leader is Satish Dawan, architect of our space programme.

When Kalam was an young sicentist, Dawan given him task of designing and launching of PSLV rocket launching woith in seven years. When the expriment first failed, Dawan asking Kalam to be present along with him, announced at a press meet "This is a good experience to us. We will launch successully in a year". This was at a time when the media and intellectuals criticising that whether a poor country like India need to spend such huge amounts on rocket launchers.

Later when the launching was success, Dawan was behind the screen and asked Kalam to announce the same at the press meet, giving credit to him. This would be great quality of an inspiring leader.
