dammit, another female that doesnt know her own fricking body again!!!

you release 1 egg darling only one during your regular cycle normally. two eggs can be released during a recycle leading to faternal twins. when two sperm cells fertilize one egg, you have identical twins. you are only fertile for about 24 hours during your cycle, so be careful and know that sperm can live up to 14 days inside the female body.

Trick question! There are NO eggs in the uterus waiting to be fertilized. Eggs are stored in the OVARIES and sent to the fallopean tubes. Eggs are fertilized in the fallopean tubes and then when they drop into the uterus, they attach themselves to the uteran wall. An estimated 40% of fertilized eggs are naturally aborted by the body before they even begin to develop.

Typically, only one egg is ejected by one of the ovaries every cycle. Sometimes it's two (that's how fraternal twins are born).

Peter S is correct but I wish to clarify a couple of points. First eggs do not drop, they are expulsed from the ovaries and captured by the fallopian tubes. Eggs are normally fertilized in the ampulla of the fallopian tube, the widest part. Eggs do not drop into the uterus, eggs move through the fallopian tube to the uterus by peristaltic muscle contractions in the fallopian tubes. Implantation occurs around day 6.

A normal healthy woman would release one egg per cycle but abnormalities occur which can result in fraternal twins or if you're on meds to try and get pregnant some cause woman to release many more than one egg per cycle.

You drop 1 per cycle, generally. non-identical twins come from 2 eggs in the same cycle.
