I have a theory. Clay Aiken is always on talk shows purposely making ambiguous statements about his sexuality. I think he does this so gay guys and straight girls will BOTH buy his records. If he comes out of the closet, he loses straight girl sales. If he states straight, then he loses the gay sales. Any comments on my theory? By the way, Kelly Ripa could easily kick his asss.

I agree. Plus if he didn't continue to be ambiguous, there wouldn't be anything to talk about and people would forget about him. At least this way people keep thinking, "hmm... what's the big fuss?" Most would probably dish out at least $.99 at Itunes to find out.
My money is on Kelly too, against Clay and Rosie. She is one feisty little chick! Do you see the way she man handles Regis all the time? She's my hero.

i wouldn't call him ambiguous, and i don't think anyone else is really unclear on the subject; he's gay. being gay wouldn't lose straight girl sales, and neither would being straight cost him gay sales. obviously, people love him anyway. think about this - if you found out that your favorite artist was not your same sexual orientation, wouldn't you still buy their music? i think many people would say "yes" and still buy their music; if not, your priorities probably aren't straight. (haha pun intended) what difference does it make if they aren't your sexual orientation? if the music is good, the sales should be too.

Clay has my total devotion and I don't care about his preferences. He has done monumental work in the area of Autism, and many times his fans will fund raise in his name. If you had an Autistic child you would worship Clay too. He's performing miracles not just songs!

I agree but I think he's not ready to admit his homosexuality yet anyway. Besides what woman would want him? Eww! Could you imagine him being married to a (real) woman and having kids? Poor kids! Ew! A divorce waiting to happen! And I agree, he's not that great of a singer or entertainer - I personally think he's gross!

Good theory. I think he wants his preference to be kept quiet just for his own privacy. If he were to be "outed" it would affect some of his "Claymate" following, but I think many who like his music don't really care what his sexual orientation is.

personally, i never give a rat's a** about a singer/actor/celebrity's sexual preference..I mean, if you're good, you're good..if you suck, then being gay/straight wont make it any better...
