Ferdinand Emmanuel EdralÃn Marcos (September 11, 1917 – September 28, 1989) was the tenth president of the Philippines, serving from 1965 to 1986. In 1972, he declared martial law, which allowed him to stay in power until lifting it in 1981. He was elected the same year to another full term, which was marred by personal health issues, government mismanagement, political repression, human rights violations, and rampant graft and corruption [1][2][3]. In 1986, he was re-elected for the fourth time, in a disputed snap election. As a result, that same year, he was removed from office peacefully by the "People Power" EDSA Revolution.
He has the distinction of being the last Philippine Senate President to be elected to the presidency.

He's the former dictator of the Philippines. He ruled from 1965 to 1986 when he was forced to call a presidential election and was beaten by Corazon Aquino - the daughter of a former political enemy whom he had assassinated. He had to flee the Philippines and went into exile in Hawaii where he died in 1989. His wife, Imelda, is a delusional quack and actually made a run for the presidency not too long ago - you probably remember, she's the one with all the shoes.

He was the Dictator of the philipines that was called the President. he and his wife controlled by torture and murder, and starved the people mercilessly while they lived in the lap of lushish luxury, his wife would by at least a half a dozen shoes of the same type that cost anywhere from 300 to 3000? Depending on the designs and who designed them. He died in exile, but his crazy wife had him preserved and placed him in a glass case on display until she could not pay the electric bill and they had to turn off the freezer, so he probably started to smell and who cared? No one. He and she were murderers.
