Calvin Coolidge said "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." I agree 100%. The other attributes are still nice, though.

I am a recent college graduate, and finding a career was not simple. It was easy, though, once I found a good fit. All it took for me was attending two career fairs on my campus, and getting lots of practice interviewing. It sounds silly to me, but dropping popular business-world lingo like "goal oriented" and "demonstrated competence" raises an interviewer's eyebrows. Also: wear a good suit.

I would choose education. I don't believe in luck, I believe in kamma (Pali pronounciation for 'karma'), so that's eliminated for me. Experience is something that is only possible with education, & so is becoming people-smart. Education--whether it be academic or through your interactions w/ your peers--will lead to everything else, & the other qualities will only improve w/ the education, so that is my choice.
