The primary advantage of viewing Onion peel under a microscope is that it provides a transparent view of its cellular structure. The cells themselves are also quite large and are arranged in a single layer enabling the cells components to be more easily identified than say green leafed plant cells.
Adding Iodine (I think thats what we used-sorry its been a few years!!) to onion peel on a microscope slide can make identifying the cell membrane, nuclei etc somewhat easier.

wen an onion peel s viewed under microscope with methylene blue stain i suppose any stain used it appears as rectangular bricks arranged neatly we can see cell wall cell membrane a distinct nucleus a cytoplasm

onions are round and about the size of a fist - when you cut them they make your eyes water
