I understand that it can mean a few different things. First of all, I think of an inspiring source of one's creativity. It can also mean to mull or ponder something. It is a word I rarely, if ever, use in conversation.

The muses were daughters of the greek/roman gods. They help us in our artistic endeavors. When I have lost my creative touch, I say that I have lost my muse!

A being so truly lovely and naturally beautiful as to make all the world stand still and my heart skip a beat. Someone who makes the Sun come out on a rainy day, turns tears of sadness into joy, a quiet moment into bliss.
In my thoughts and dreams I think of her and all the pleasure she brings me and I dream of ways to please her and see her smile.
She helps to enlighten my life, to ease the burden of my daily strife. Just her presence fills my soul with joy and brings light and laughter into my dark and lonely existence, inspiring me to write my thoughts and feelings down so that I may perchance see her smile peacefully and enjoy the warmth of her presence.
